Self Employment  Thanks to mass shutdowns during COVID-19 AND families still needing to make ends meet. Millions of Americans discovered the "gig" economy taking roles with delivery, rideshare, and online companies. Discovering they no longer had to be reliant on "corporate" jobs or "bosses" to survive was the biggest driver of the big resign of 2021 that continues through today. 

Another group of professionals started businesses or became private contractors.

Teleworker  As high demand and short supply of top talent drove up the size of compensation packages, it also opened the door for flexibility. Discovering that employees can be just as productive from home as they are in the office, has propelled the number of companies offering either 100% remote/work from home roles or hybrid WFH. You can seek a role in your current career with an organization that offers remote or telework for that role.
